That might be interpreted as rude. Are you upset about something in particular? It might be best if we talked it out while we have the opportunity to do so.

[He was aware of how it could be interpreted but he didn't care much for pretense. There will be no niceties coming from him.]

I'm not upset with anything. I don't want to talk. Find something useful to do instead.

[ HMM... As a new parent, he isn't entirely sure how to address this situation. It's been a long time since he was young, after all, and even back then he had to mature a little more quickly than most. He sets his phone down thoughtfully, pausing for a moment before rising from his seat at the table in order to move upstairs.

A knock comes at the door shortly after. ] Excuse me.

[This is something expected but he didn't necessarily want to deal with Macau's presence. He is going to assume this person wants to get know him or something of the sort. At least given the roles they are suppose to take though he is sure he made it obvious he had no interest in any of it.

So he will take just a little too long to answer the door.]

This isn't what I meant by, find something useful to do.

[ Oh, never fear, he is an endlessly patient man. ]

I didn't believe that it was. I am here of my own volition and now in response to your suggestion. May I come in?

[surfeits]

[He considers saying no. He doesn't want to do this but he may as well get it over it with. But just what would this guy do if he refused?

He will step aside to allow Macau in.]

[ And of course he steps inside, surveying the room briefly. ]

I realize that we haven't really had the chance to get to know one another since you've arrived, isn't that right?

[surfeits]

[He doesn't appreciate that Macau but he won't comment. At least he has kept the room in order but it's obvious that he isn't expecting anyone else to occupy the room. That is why he has various things laid out on the spare bed.]

Don't waste time stating the obvious. What do you want?

To see if there's anything bothering you, anything that I can do, and to bond with someone with whom I'm now sharing a home. All of these are important, don't you agree?

[surfeits]

Nothing is bothering me but if you are in the mood to bond with someone try the dog trainer that lives here. He seems simple enough.

We are already close friends.

Do you ever feel a little bit lonely, cramped up here in this room?

[surfeits]

I see. [He doesn't appear to care however he may have the wrong idea...] Well, I have no interest in your personal lives.

And is that your way of saying you want me to go outside more often? I'm not interested in the people here. So there is your answer.

I suppose you expect me to introduce myself? Fine. My name is Leon. That is all.

And I am Macau. [ This definitely counts as a mini victory! ]

Although... no, that isn't what I was saying, not exactly. It's alright if I'm not someone that you want to talk to, I just want to know if you feel the need to talk to anyone at all.

[surfeits]

Yes. I know that, Macau. And that is all as well.

[Maybe and no are both lies. The answer would be yes, but he wouldn't call it a need. It was something he would want to do. Yet, he wasn't sure if he could go through with it if he were to come across those people. Then of course there was Chal who had always been at his side. He was use to Chal's constant chatter and enthusiasm, yeah he missed that.

And he had ignored Macau for a noticeable while hadn't he?] How is that any of your business?

[ He's incapable of not completing the introduction; they couldn't be much more opposite in terms of social mannerisms. ]

We're family now, and in that respect I feel at least moderately responsible for your happiness. We're here to support one another.

[surfeits]

No, we are not family now. We have never been such a thing. If you want to follow some unknown individual's plans, then be my guest. Just don't get me involved. That means I absolve any responsibility you may feel over my happiness. Your duties as a parent are over. And if that wasn't clear enough, I have no interest in being part of any family.

But I guess I'll admit calling you a fool might not have been the correct thing to say nor should I have told you what to do.

I believe it's important for you to think over your words and realize how hurtful they might seem to others before you speak. I am fortunate in that I'm able to imagine reasons for you saying such things but it's possible that other people with whom you interact won't.

[surfeits]

[It isn't the first time anyone has spoken to him about the way he expresses himself. Usually though those conversations turned unpleasant quickly. It is surprising that Macau spoke to him in such a manner. It even reminded him of someone, which might be why he feels some inclination to listen.]

Right. But you see, Macau, I am fully aware of that.

You're an awfully patient man and you're really not a fool. It makes it hard to understand why there is such interest on your part in any of this. I'll think about what you said before however.

Oh, and I will join you at table tonight, for dinner.
